Take Away 02:26
Take away all the lies that you told to me Take away all the dreams that once set me free The smile on my face and the spring in my step You can take them too Cause if you’re leavin’ Then I won’t need them Take them with you Take away all my cash and your diamond ring If you can carry the house go right ahead Take the whole damn thing The sun in the sky and the leaves on the trees They’re my gift to you Cause if you’re leavin’ Then I won’t need them What good would they do? Well, I remember the days When I could make you laugh And I could make you smile But those days darlin’ haven’t been round here In a good long while Well, take away all the lies that you told to me Yeah, take away all the dreams that once set me free The smile on my face And the spring in my step you can take them too Cause if you’re leavin’ Then I won’t need them Take them with you Oh, take them with you

Will you take a message? You know who it’s for Will you take a message? And knock upon her door Knock until she answers If you have to knock all night These words I want to say to her Make sure you get 'em right It’s taken me some distance, it’s taken me some time I’ve needed some assistance, since she left me behind Make sure she understands I’ve thought the whole thing through The words I want to say to her I hope they will ring true I’d follow her around the world If I thought it’d make her mine I’d follow her to hell and back If that would change her mind It’s taken me some distance, it’s taken me some time I’ve needed some assistance, since she left me behind It’s taken me some distance, it’s taken me some time I’ve needed some assistance, since she left me behind It’s taken me some distance, it’s taken me some time I’ve needed some assistance, since she left me behind To get her off my mind, since she left me behind

about

Bugaboo Records proudly announces the release - on March 17, 2023 - of the new single “Take Away,” from the upcoming album “Better Late Than Never” by John Egan.

"Take Away" takes the band in an exciting new up-tempo rock'n'roll direction, from the folksier territory of the first single - "Since She Left Me Behind" - which was released by The Rebel Cause Record Label on September 29, 2022. It is available on most streaming services thanks to Symphonic Distribution.

The album - John's second - will include 11 new original songs, and is scheduled to be released in early 2023. "Just Like a Human Being," the debut album from 1995, is available everywhere thanks to CDBaby.
